VR GP required for South side of Cairns Queensland.
Edmonton and Mt Sheridan constitute Cairns’ southern corridor. It is the growth area of Cairns charactarised by young families and expected to reach a population size of 65 000 by 2025. (Cairns present population 130000 with 30000 tourists at any one time).
The practice sees few tourists and is the classic suburban General Practice though we see a lot more children than the Medicare average. The new Base Hospital is planned for the South of Cairns.
In late 2009, the practice relocated to a purpose built facility at the Forest Gardens estate in Mount Sheridan. There are 8 consulting rooms with the ability to add 4 more easily. There is plenty of room for expansion on the site we would foresee Medical Imaging and allied health on site in due course.
